Bitcoin Turns Lower as Hopes For Iran War De-escalation Fade — Market Talk
-
Bitcoin turns lower after reaching an 11-week high on Wednesday as hopes for an imminent Iran war peace deal fade. Iran attacked three ships in the critical Strait of Hormuz and escorted two of them to Iranian waters, although White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said this didn't constitute a violation of the cease-fire. Mediators are scrambling to get the diplomatic process back on track with a meeting between the U.S. and Iran potentially being held as soon as Friday. Bitcoin falls 0.3% to $78,225 after reaching a high of $79,480 on Wednesday, LSEG data show.(renae.dyer@wsj.com)
